Can it be too early for live music? I don’t think so and so I went to see Holly Giles this afternoon at Cafe Musique. As I haven’t been there for quite a while it was good to be back for a visit.
Starting with Adele’s “Make you feel my love” she got me right from the start. Powerful and catchy, her voice guided us through her setlist of mostly slower and countrylike songs – which wasn’t a bad thing at all. I especially loved her versions of Lady Gaga’s “Music to my eyes”, Emmylou Harris’ “Two more bottles of wine” and of course Julia Zahra’s “Just an illusion”. Completed by very likeable announcements it was a really enjoyable hour. And lastly, tip of the hat: she did the whole performance with toothache and if she hadn’t mentioned it nobody would have noticed.
…she never performed in real live before.
Holly Giles is one of the newer live singers in Second Live, starting a bit more than 1 year ago in September 2018. Coming from South Australia she has a strong musical background as her mother had a band and she was raised around country music – however she never performed in real live before. Today Holly loves all genres of music and sings anything, as long as she likes the song. Her genre ranges from classic country and classic rock through to modern pop.
Cafe Musique was established in 2015 for music lovers by music lovers. Usually hosting concerts at an atmospheric beach club, tuesdays they open their Cafe to offer live music asides of it. You can find events almost all day long, so you can enjoy live music nearly every time, no matter which timezone you are living in.
Thank you Holly for a very enjoyable and relaxing afternoon!
